4teeThird 2008-08-10 at 9:36 p.m. Ah it's been too long since I've last been here. Everything has happened since the last login and to try and recall everything is a staggeringly difficult task. School's started for some of the girls, and the others are leaving just too soon. The guys on the other hand are still stuck here, serving the nation with all our blood, sweat and (trust me on this) many a tear. To say NS is a right of passage is to hit the nail right on the head. The past months have made me come to a great deal of realisations about how nasty and unjust the society really is. Now I feel like I truly understand why most of us don't bother entertaining our childhood ideals of environmentalism, morality and equality. The problems and deficiencies are just too huge and blatantly stubborn to be removed or corrected. It's almost like wiping dust off your furniture. It'll disappear for all of a few moments and before you know it, the dust is back. I'm not sure what my stand is on this but I'll have an entire sixteen days of Ubin and the Straits under mighty Mr Sun to ponder. On a positive and relatively national(day)istic note, I have renewed faith in the local Arts scene. SINGfest was awesome and the upcoming Baybeats seems promising.
